2 GREAT REVIEWS & 2 GREAT SPECIALS

THE OWL OF THE SIPAN LORD

A good and thrill read, May 19, 2016
This review is from: The Owl of the Sipan Lord (Paperback)
The book “The Owl of the Sipan Lord’’ reveals an archaeological Journey but given an essence of Love !!!

Clare Montgomery is an Archaeologist, she used to go to digs with her husband Martin. When he died she stays away from the place where he was killed. She was drawn back to find some answers. Teaming up with Cord, a man who has always secretly loved her, and a few others the group heads to Peru to discover the secrets of The Temple of the Moon, El Brujo and the Lady of Cao. They will need their wits, their bravery and a lot of luck as mysteries pile up. This is a great story with adventure, mystery, fun and a bit of romance.

I loved the characters and the atmosphere, Author Viv Drewa has created and shared with readers. When I started reading it, in the first page itself it created suspense and attracted me towards completing the story. To my surprise I completed it at a go.

I am a believer of dream and this book gives emphasis on dream. It made me to believe that every dream has a meaning. Another good feature of the book is; it is a career oriented Love Story.

If you are searching for a good and thrill read then this one is the best for you !!!!

Viv Drewa’s “From the Pages of Grandfather’s Life” presents us with the harrowing escape of the author’s grandfather, Lucjan, from Russian-occupied Poland. Lucjan is not alone and fortunately can rely on his friends, Franciszek and Andrzej. But their dangers are very real and the reader is held in suspense until the end. “From the Pages of Grandfather’s Life” is an excellent encounter of what many immigrants may have experienced, making it a gem not to be missed.

I absolutely loved this book!! Taylor's struggle with his triggers and PTSD showed that with lots of support and community outreach that we can help those that have served this country. There was so much information woven in the story that it just made it all the better. Taylor and Beth's story was beautiful. The relationship development was perfect and believable. It made my heart hurt for all the vets out there that struggle and don't have the means or knowledge of treatment. God bless those that struggle and live with PTSD everyday and God bless our active and reserve military! Great book, great message, and highly recommend! This series just keeps getting better and better!!

A small town in the 1960’s must deal with some big time crime. Written and delivered in the fashion of Sam Spade and Phillip Marlowe, the author magically transports the reader back in time – a time that should be simpler, but isn’t. A tough Private Detective uses his muscle and humor to sort through clues and resolve a complicated murder. This is a Classic Carson Reno Mystery with all the usual characters and compelling conversations for the reader. Light illustrations help tell the story and complete the reader’s transition back in time

LW isn't a werewolf, but is he a predator or a hero?, October 29, 2011

This review is from: Lone Wolf (Paperback)
This book is more than a sci fi novel, it's also a mystery with a love triangle. The settings are unique and so are some of the alien species that populate the story. The main character, who earned his nickname, is a very compelling man and so are close rivals. The female lead is a strong, smart, beautiful woman who is up to the task to deal with Wolf's complex deviousness. The first in a series, Lone Wolf is also quite good as a stand-alone. Of course, the ending does make you want to continue on.

THIS BOOK IS A HOOT! By SUMMER
This review is from “DAYTONA DEAD” (A Laura and Gerry Mystery, Book 3)
This book is a hoot! The moment our Canadian friends arrive for their honeymoon in Daytona, FL all hell breaks loose. Laura and Gerry just happen to run over a dead body when they arrive, and that dead body just happens to be Laura’s ex. As you can imagine, good cops and bad cops alike have them on their radar, before you can say “I’m going to Disney World.” They don’t hit that tourist hotspot, btw. What they do is their best to enjoy themselves as honeymoon couples are wont to do. They manage to squeeze in some quality time and even do some touristy things that involve a lot of eating, drinking and NASCAR racing. That all happens in between stumbling upon clues, a break-in at their hotel, trips to the local police station, and a mounting number of missing and dead people. The best thing, for me, is Laura’s sarcastic wit and her hubby’s devotion to his new wife, despite her proclivity to attract trouble like a Porterhouse steak in a pack of Doberman Pinschers! This isn’t the first time she’s been up to her “almost-plus-sized” neck in trouble. Daytona Dead is the third in the series, so if you want to find out more about Laura, you can read Dead on Arrival and Over Her Dead Body. Kudos to a fun, funny, fast read.

Kid friendly enough to instill in them a sense of wonder, June 17, 2015

This review is from: The Seven Natural Wonders Of The Earth (My First Travel Books) (Volume 2) (Paperback)
Disclosure: I received a complimentary book as a member of Beck Valley Book Tours. All opinions are my own.

We love to travel as a family and I am always on the lookout for things that will help my kids learn more about the world around them. I love travel books and feel they give the reader a chance to learn a little bit of new information about destinations before they head out on a trip. The Seven Natural Wonders Of The Earth (My First Travel Books) by Anna Othitis shows kids some of the most wonderful places in the world to visit. I feel like it is kid friendly enough to instill in them a sense of wonder and awe.

I wish that I'd had books like this when I was little. I think it would have made me more interested in Geography. I would have paid more attention in class! My kids loved looking at the pictures and reading about all the places we may never get the chance to visit. The photos and illustrations in the book are beautiful, yet it is written in a way that children can understand and really get captivated by.

The kids felt like they were on a real tour with Captain Frankie leading the way. The map inside helped them to really visualize where in the world the Seven Wonders are. I like that parts of the story describe a little about each attraction. It then has a Q&A to help the kids remember what they've learned. It isn't just a picture book.

I haven't had the chance to read the 1st book in the series but after having read the 2nd, I'll definitely be purchasing the 1st and continued books in the My First Travel Books series.

This is a perfect way to introduce the world to your child. The book is written so that children can understand. The wonderful illustrations and photos makes it fun!

The book takes you on a tour to the “new” seven wonders of the world with great detail! I love how the Captain asks questions in the end.

Bravo!

Marta Moran Bishop takes the reader through a possible future.

Marte the between times.jpg

#Owl&PussycatPromotions

In the days when the corporations rule the world. The middle class is gone, and the cities are divided into upper and lower towns.
The upper towns are doomed to protect the rich from the foul air that permeates the world, from the waste that fills the air, and fumes that blacken the sky from the smokestacks of the factories. The water is heavily rationed in the lower towns and barely drinkable, so fouled by the chemicals that fill the rivers and springs.
While in the upper town the water is purified even in the fountains and swimming pools that grace the world of the high and mighty. The shops, boutiques, restaurants, and museums are crowded in the upper town, music can be heard everywhere, and the flowers grow tall and beautiful.
While the people of the lower towns work six days a week, in sixteen to eighteen-hour shifts. There one day of is Sunday, it is then that the men and young boys must be found in the church, while the women and girls are kept at home, for they are considered to be beasts for breeding and less important than the animals that grace the zoos of the upper towns. Food is scarce in the lower town, and the only market is the company store.
The world has stepped back into the dark ages. Nearly all hope is gone to those not born into wealth and only the prophecy that one day a young woman will come who can control the magic of the between times keeps the poor going. It is said she will be able to pull on the energy of all those who are of like mind, wrap that energy together and send it into the world to remake it.
Marta Moran Bishop takes the reader through a possible future. Unlike Orwell’s, Animal Farm and 1984, or Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, The Between Times is not based on the government ‘Big Brother,’ but rather it is written using a recent ruling by the Supreme Court that says corporations are people. In The Between Times, we are shown the possibility of a world where the poor are considered to be a beast of burden, good only for the labor they can produce or the war they can fight, to enable the war profiteers to make more money.
Poor women are used for breeding and considered to be the property of men and the corporation. There is no way for the uneducated and isolated poor, move up the latter, for the middle class is gone.
In this short novel, The United States had taken a social, economic, and cultural step backward, to a time when our world consisted of lords and serfs. The only thing that keeps those who are not in the ruling class of the elite, going is the belief in a prophecy, that one day a girl will be born who will have the ability to unite all kindred spirits past, present, and future, to bring change to the world.
A truly amazingly imaginative book.
