This book took me by surprise with its storyline, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! Charlie had a rare glimpse into a realm that people normally wouldn’t see but ultimately was faced with a choice. The ending made me smile. I can’t wait for the next book!

This story is reminiscent of the old Twilight Zone episodes, reminding me of the reason they were fascinating. It was the author’s portrayal of the characters’ psychical layers within the story that captured my interest.
When the dark moon night phase is complete, a night with no moon – the void – occurs. Bad things happen to anyone caught outside during this time – it did to Helen, and she disappeared. Wrestling with her despair over a life of drudgery as an outcast, made worse by the loss of her sister, Altori makes a bold decision. Determined to discover the truth about Helen’s disappearance, she goes into the void for answers and risks the terrible ravages upon her body that will occur.
Alto’s choice is to stay the same – invisible and miserable or step into the void. To make a choice for change, she must transcend fears, trust in her intuition and go through a phase of pain. There is no guarantee she will survive much less discover the answers, the better life that she seeks.

The Void is a psychologically compelling story that integrates themes important for the transcendence of a person from a sense of littleness to one of confident self-worth. I enjoyed the paranormal element; it is the transformational, however, that made the story so interesting.

Laura and Gerry get pulled into a murder while on vacation in Jamaica, even though Laura promised Gerry she wouldn’t get involved. She does all right but then it gets to be too much, and she’s right in the middles of it. I love how well Karen Vaughan mixes murder and comedy in her books and can’t wait to read the next one.

“An intriguing story” – A 5-Star review for “Murder and More” (Carson Reno Mystery Series Book 14) by Gerald W. Darnellg
A Carson Reno Mystery By Angela Kay
Murder and More is a quite intriguing story. The author does well to take the readers back in history. The scenery was very well described, the characters three-dimensional and interesting. The story pops out from the pages, and you’re really just watching a movie–that’s how engrossing it was…for me, anyway.
This is the fourteenth installment of the Carson Reno series but is a stand alone. We get the sense of who Carson is without knowing anything about this novel’s predecessors.
Carson is a very likable man, but I had trouble discerning how old he was. Sometimes he seemed to be in his mid-thirties, while other times he appeared to be much older. Either way, he gets his job done well.
Throughout the novel were various photos which help remind us that it’s set back in time. While I enjoyed the old-time landscaping and sign photos at times, some of the photos were beginning to become a bit of a nuisance, making it more of a picture book.
I did rather enjoy reading Murder and More. It was a quick, easy read, kept me guessing, and I became so engrossed in the storytelling that I managed to finish in one day. I highly recommend the story, whether you’ve followed along with Carson Reno in the past or not.

You are left hanging with some unanswered questions, but a warm feeling of true love. So now I have to read the next book to find out the answers. A good writer will leave a good book and you hanging.

I was going to give this book a four star, I was torn on that because the author does such a great job with the hard content of this book. Except for the fact I feel I am more optimistic than the author, I think the book is one all should read. I don’t think it is the end of the rainbow, but I can see things are headed in that direction. There is division, especially in America and I hope we can find a way to fix it. I like that the author not only spoke pf the common subject debated of race, religion and sexual orientation but also of rich and poor. I think that is a big divide we need to breach. For me, it is sad that America finally made a break through and elected a black president, only to not work with him. Something that was decided before he ever took the oath of office. The author did a good job of trying to stay neutral in the writing, a hard thing to do. I think we all have a prejudice against something and hope we all will also find a way to work on that. I have faith in the new generation who I feel see with their hearts and not their eyes. I hope I am right! Thanks to the author for a book that makes readers think, feel and hopefully change!

I don’t want to give anything away, but just know that this book shocked the hell out of me. It completely stunned me into silence. I didn’t cry, or laugh, or get angry, I just sat there…… staring at my iPad when I finished the book.
I really think this is the kind of series you just have to hold your breath and jump into with both feet. When I first read Thirty Days I never read the description, I just dove right in. Take the plunge and read these books. It will be an experience.

Omg, what can I say? I think this book needs to come with a warning “tissues will definitely be required.” This is the first book by this author that I’ve read, and I will be defiantly cant wait to read more. I loved how the book started at the present day then went back to the beginning to tell the love story finishing back at present day. A fantastic book with a brilliant a story line and even better characters.
