John saw movement to his far left and he turned to see an owl landing on a boulder not far from him. It was an odd looking owl because of the glowing blue ring around its face. Then he remembered France’s blue-ringed owl. It was incredible to see! And it’s looking directly at him. It lets out a loud ear-piercing shree scream that wakes some of the others. Only Mark came out of his tent. “Wow! What was that?” Mark said as he slowly walked up to John. “That thing’s noisy.” Dave, Phil, and Paul came out to see what the commotion was. “Look at that!” Paul said. “Is that the owl France told us about?”
