This is a lovely book filled with poems of and from the heart… Something for everyone, emotions, and empathy entwined. There is a haunting quality to many of them – the sense of what might have been – and yet the resilience comes through, as well as the overall strength and underlying optimism of the author. The concluding poem, “A Bit of a Bookworm,” left me with the thought that this author, to me, would never be “the last picked for the team.” I’d make her the captain!
