Ms Bishop did an excellent job by bringing both books of the Jewell in the Dark Series together. She has tied things together with Darkness Descends (the prequel) to The Between Times. To get the real gist for “The Between Times” is you need to read the prequel “Darkness Descends”. I have read both books and made it easy to understand the fight and struggle that everybody went through at that time. This book will bring out your emotions, but in the end of the tunnel there is light. For me it was a no-brainer to get these books.
