Dollar Signs is a legal thriller set in Austin Texas and the storyline revolves around Boots King a leasing agent employed by Nixon Outdoor Advertising, and Merit Bridges a business attorney. Boots and Nixon adverting have been praying on innocent business owners getting them to sign space for advertising billboards but hiding legal clauses which later affect land ownership.
The book opens with a client of Merit’s burning down a billboard, but the ensuing fire engulfs and kills a homeless guy who was in a car close by. A simple case of property damage now becomes manslaughter and Boots King is a slippery con man who knows plenty of tricks.
This book has a lot of American legal jargon and the leasing legislation is complex, this author knows her stuff and Texan law…
